National Hamburger Festival 2012. Saturday, August 18th – Sunday, August 19th, Lock 3, Akron, Ohio. I haven’t totally figured this one out yet….it’s called the “National Hamburger Festival”, yet there are a total of 17 restaurants participating (according to the website), many of which are chains and some of which appear to be fair food vendors. I’m not sure what classifies this as “national,” – except that Max & Erma’s is a multi-state franchise. In any event, it might be worth the trip to see two popular Cleveland food trucks: Hodge Podge and The Nosh Box. But apart from those and a few other local participants, my suspicion is this is just another Rib White and Blue, but with burgers.
