In the category of quick weekday lunch, Mo’ Joe’s on Hills & Dales in Canton is a great little place for soup, salad, sandwiches, and coffee, as you might have guessed. It’s perfect for take-out, with reasonable prices, great quality ingredients, and a nice well-rounded menu. Thankfully Mo’ Joe’s is close enough to my office that I can go at least once a month; it’s in the regular rotation. They always have “feature” items and specials, so you can try something different every time you go. Most recently I tried the spinach quiche which was very tasty with lots of cheese and flavor. Even the crust was yummy.
The homemade bread at Mo’ Joes is superb – always soft and fresh. Plus they give you a nice fat slice with pretty much everything you order, including salads.
One thing I will mention is that some of the salads are pre-made, which is why I rarely order salads at fast food restaurants. (Limp and/or watery lettuce is no bueno.) I ordered a salad at Mo’ Joes once which came with blueberries on it. It turned out to be pre-made, so some of my lettuce was blue from sitting under the berries. It tasted fine, but it was a touch unappetizing, so typically I try to stick to salads that I know they make to order.
While perfect for carry-out lunch, they also have a cozy dining area with a dozen or so tables, and even a few outside. This would be a great place to have lunch alone, too, even if you don’t usually do that; it’s filled with friendly people, good food – excellent lunch spot overall. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, there’s a bakery case full of homemade goodness, somehow I’ve managed to resist so far.

I learned a lot from this post, much appreciated!!
Love the bread and coffee, but I have yet to meet the friendly people.
